The structure of a variant allele which is considered to be 30.3 in the STR locus D21S11.Tsuji A, Ishiko A, Ikeda N Department of Forensic Pathology and Sciences, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University, 3-1-1, Maidashi, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka 812-8582, Japan. We found a variant allele which is considered to be 30.3 in the STR locus D21S11 in a mother and child during a paternity test. The allele had consisted of the insertion of three bases (TCA) or the deletion of one base (T after C) between the five TCTA repeats and the six TCTA repeats within the last variable region of three variable regions.
